The House
He died on Wednesday and the house
began to decompose.
The walls thinned slowly
until only the studs showed.
In ancient South Africa, bodies were buried
dug up, and placed in pottery jars like food.
This house wasn't even buried once.
This may seem a sign
the house is unloved
but it's only the culture of houses,
religion of rust, microorganisms,
being consumed by the small.
The opposite of nirvana, just as sweet.
